I've been thinking of adding a new turntable to my system. Can anybody help with suggestions for one around the $700 or less price range? The direct drive model I have now is a Pioneer model. It still works, but it was fairly cheap when I bought it 20 years ago. I'm familiar with Technics, but am wondering if there's anything else competitive.

Mark, along with the Technics tables, take a look at the Rega P2 and P3 and the Music Hall MMF-5 and MMF-7. Sumiko also makes well-regarded turntables.

Thanks Keith. I think my Rotel dealer does Rega as well. I may pay him a visit soon and check out what he has.
