Just made the move from my old Pioneer receiver, which was the 1st DD5.1 receiver on the market, to a new Kenwood receiver with all the bells and whistles, including THX, DTS, DD, DPL2, etc. But I am going to need a rear center speaker and I was wondering what to get. Can I use a regular medium sized bookshelf speaker, or do I need a center channel speaker like the one I use for the front center, you know, the long rectangular center speaker. Also, where in the rear should this one go? Same height as the right & left rears, or higher or lower? Thanks in advance. Bob

Same height as the side speakers. Should be direct radiating and tonally matched to the rest of your speakers.
Do not use another "center channel" speaker.
Short and simple. :)
