A group from Texas called Exeter Studios has made a Star Trek episode based on the Original series time, but on a different ship. They have created a 1 hour episode that can be downloaded for free. The sets and everything else looke really good. If you are a Trek fan you should check it out.

Hey that's better than anything Paramount makes of Trek these days.

The captain is actually one of the creators of this show. The other creator is the Andorian fellow. (They used stage names for the acting credits.)

I found this little gem a while back. They REALLY did a great job. [IMG]

Just had to add... visited the site for the first time in quite a while. They are planning to do a couple more episodes, but are looking for donations. If you want more Starship Exeter, send 'em a few bucks. (If they don't go ahead with production, they'll be returning all donations/investments.)

Personally, I'm sending 'em some bucks. I'd love to see they do more.

With today's video/film technology this could be just the start of a plethora of fan films!
I know Batman[IMG]ead End is pretty good when you can find it.
But this one just had the mannerisms down such as the Kirk fighting style. The camera movements and angles. The sets and the CG.
It was FUN on top of all that!
I've sent these links to everyone in my local film community to have fun with and possibly donate to.

Back in 2004, Rick Berman called THESE ARE THE VOYAGES, the finale of ENTERPRISE, a "love letter to the fans." IMO it was arguably the worst Star Trek episode ever produced.

The fan series STAR TREK CONTINUES recently concluded its run filling in the remainder of the original Enterprise's five-year mission.

    SPOILER AHEAD***********************

To me, this was the greatest love letter this Star Trek fan ever received. It filled a hole left by the original show's cancellation, both in the story and in the huge gap leading to The Motion Picture. The final scenes show Kirk promoted to Admiral, in his new uniform, standing on the bridge of the original Enterprise one last time before she's refitted into the ship in TMP.

The last shot is the original Enterprise in dry dock about to be refitted.

Some people have taken great delight in bashing fan series like this. I take great delight in expressing how much affection and respect I have for Star Trek Continues, its donors, and the inspiring fan film makers who brought it to life.

    LLAP.

It had a surprisingly emotional send-off too. Well-done.
