I was in a local electronics store the other day and had mentioned I was looking at getting a Toshiba progressive scan player as I thought they were a good price. The owner of the store told me these aren't true progressive and if I wanted a good player I would have to step up to a Pioneer Elite or Denon etc. I told him that I didn't have that sort of money and he suggested the RP-82. Now is their a huge difference between an RP-82 and a Pioneer Elite? I don't think I could notice the difference, especially for 3 times the price. Any opinions on this? I'm not sure I have that great of a discerning eye? I have a Panasonic RV31 and think the picture is great?

What the hell is "true progressive"? As far as I know, a DVD player that outputs a progressive image is progressive scan.
