On the old software, to read comments
that were in spoiler bars, all I had to do was click on the "edit" feature of that post and was able to read the spoiler.
I tried recently to do that and got a text message informing me that I was unauthorized, and was unable to read the spoilers.
    Any suggestions on a remedy?
    Thanks[IMG]

You cannot edit another member's post so that is why you get that message.

The way to read a spoiler message is to hold down you left mouse button and drag it across the face of the spoiler's black area. Then you can read the text.

Or in Opera, try CTRL+G to toggle between user mode.

Of course I know I cannot edit other members posts[IMG], but since I am using WEB TV, that was the only way I was able to read spoilers. The spoiler part was readable in the post, now with the new software, the post is not shown at all.
I hope I am being clear. Thanks

Can't you highlight text with a mouse curser in WebTV?

No. No mouse. Just a remote and keyboard.

    Tino,
I have the same problem too. I bought myself a webtv (for 5 bucks) since my wife lets me no where near her computer. I planned on buying a computer for myself, but due to recent theater(s) upgrades I won't be able to get one till late spring. I hope something is done for all us webtv users who would like to read spoilers.

Using the keyboard try hitting [CTRL]+A (or "Select All" from the edit menu). This will select all text on the page (including the spoiler areas). I should think there's a method for selecting smaller areas with the keyboard, but I don't know what it is off hand.

Using IE, I tried the [CTRL]+A. It selected all text as expected. Then using the up and down arrows moved the page up and down but did not de-select the text (good for reading spoilers). I couldn't figure out yet how to unselect the text with the keyboard without going to a new page (backspace or other methods).

Unfortunately, with WebTV, since you cannot highlight the text in the spoiler there is no way to read it unless you can do something like Bill suggests. If I can figure out a way I will let you know.

Do the little 'preview' windows work if you hold the pointer over a thread title? I've noticed that if that message contains spoiler text you can actually see it - it shows the spoiler tag but obviously the preview pane can't do the spoiler effect so nothing happens. Maybe that could be utilised in some way.

My girlfriend has Web-TV and [Ctrl]+A works fine for highlighting spoilers.

Just an update for WebTv users and the ability to read spoilers. Hitting [Cmd]+A will highlight the spoiler area. Hitting [Ctrl]+A will not work for me. If you're a WebTv user and are having problems revealing spoilers, you may want to try both methods to see which works for you.
