I haven't yet caught up with Season 2, but just started another Reacher book, "The Sentinel", yesterday.

I had begun to read the Reacher series before the start of the TV series, but stopped after one book so I wouldn't spoil the TV seasons. I'll go back and read those not filmed once the series is over. Really have enjoyed the two seasons of the TV series immensely.

Not sure that's THE "big bad". I think he's a guard/muscle that works for the main villain.

Really enjoyed the first three episodes...maybe not as much as season 2, but still a very engaging story, and having Reacher undercover adds some nice suspense. The actress playing Duffy's Boston accent didn't bother me, but then, I'm not an expert nor from there, so YMMV. She has good chemistry with Alan Ritchson, so it works for me. And Ritchson continues to have the character of Reacher down cold.

Because the wait is so long for new seasons, I space out the episodes as long as I can (and Amazon helps by reverting to weekly one episode releases after the initial dump). I only watched the premiere this afternoon, and I absolutely loved it.

Just finished watching the first episode. Very different start to the season compared to the first two, where things ramped up slowly. The hook felt slightly manipulative, but it was undeniably effective.

I like that the cops this season are very different than the cops from the first season.

I don't know why so many American character roles are cast with British and Australian actors. There don't seem to be many American actors cast to play British/Australian characters.
In the case of British actors, it's because they have training. There are some good drama programs in the US, but nothing like the pipeline the UK has. Sonya Cassidy is a RADA grad.

I do think the Boston and Maine accents are among the hardest to get right. Very easy to overdo.

I think she overdid the accent especially in that first episode.

Viewed episode one and while I could have easily watched all three of the initial releases, I decided to take a pause. ( I may be watching this program with a friend, so I am holding off for now.) Very happy to see the series back.

I thought the opening moved fast enough that I didn't have a lot of time to question whether I saw what I thought I saw, at least until they arrived at Beck's estate. Fun to see that Reacher is still quick with the quips.
HGH and a syringe? :)
. It was an interesting way to get us into season three.

I liked the chemistry of the new law enforcement individuals and Duffy's (Sonya Cassidy) accent didn't really bother me. ( I think it is because I've heard so many actors doing that type of accent that I have become innured to the lesser instances. ) I enjoyed the kind of no-nonsense give and take between Duffy and Reacher.

Very mild spoiler for episode one:
And yes, according to Google, Ethel Merman did in fact record a disco album in 1979.

I never had any doubts about that LP you mentioned in your spoiler. I never bought it, but I knew it existed, and I remember her appearing on Mike Douglas and other talk shows plugging it.

Which episode will the death match take place between Reacher and Paulie?

I am guessing the penultimate episode, leaving the final episode of season three for Reacher and Quinn. (I knew I recognized the actor portraying Quinn, and finally remembered Brian Tee from Chicago Med.)

My friend that I watch some series with came by yesterday and I re-watched episode one with him and then we took in episode two. I am liking the chemistry of Duffy's team and I like the interaction between Duffy and Reacher. I believe that Ritchson's acting has improved since season one and I thought the ride in the truck with Duffy was a fine example of Ritchson being able to express a lot non-verbally.

I could see where the 'arm wrestling' with Paulie was going from a mile away, but apparently Paulie could not. :)

I was hoping to see more of Angel Dole, but I guess not.

- Walter.

I remembered Brian Tee from We Were Soldiers starring Mel Gibson and Sam Elliot.
