Hey, I need someones help to determine which version of Re-animator to buy.

According to IMDB, the R-rated version runs 86 minutes and the unrated runs 95 minutes...

According to Amazon.com the Elite Millenium Edition is unrated, but the running time is listed as 86 minutes.
The Ventura Edition only says unrated and has no running time listed.

Of course the millenium edition looks like the best option, but is it in fact the 95 minute unrated version???

thanx, Artur

It must be a typo on Amazons behalf as the Millennium Edition is the unrated version and its definitely the version to go for. The picture and sound are better than the previous Elite version and there are more extras.

Thanx Rich, I thought that's how it was, but better safe than sorry... But it also has to be a typo on the box cover then, because it also says 86 minutes!

I believe the unrated Re-Animator is actually much shorter than the R-rated cut, due to additional non-graphic scenes included in the R rated one.

The 2-disc Millenium is definitely the way to go.

IMDB has it backwards. The 86 min. version is the unrated version. The R-rated 95 min. cut tones down the sex and gore but adds and extends many scenes. Definitely get the Millennium Edition since, in addition to the unrated cut of the film, it also includes the scenes from the R-rated version as supplements.

Just a side note...
It appears that the director of Bride of Re-Animator is about to direct Beyond Re-Animator, the final film in the trilogy...again starring Jefferey Combs!

Don't forget to go out and purchase DAGON DVD.

This was the first project they wanted to do after Re-Animator. Highly Recommended if not for one really nice ripping scene.
