I just picked up a pair of these headphones (refurbished) at XS Cargo in Canada for $19.95 (CND) but they didn't come with the Ni-CD batteries that the non-reburbs would have included in the box. The specs state that it takes 2 1.2V Ni-CD batteries (rechargable), as I don't have these batteries do you think it would be okay if I used 1.5V AA batteries until I can find myself a pair of these recharable bats ?

Hard to say if the extra 0.6v (assuming the batteries are in series) will harm the electronics or not. It is PROBABLY OK but it is hard to say.

I am surprised that no batteries were included. All refurbished items I have bought always came with all accessories, etc., just like a new unit.

You might want to contact the seller to see if this was an oversight during packaging.

Good luck.
