Greetings, all.
Radio Shack carries several RCA powered subwoofers (varying from 60 to around 200 watts). I cannot find a single review on any of these models. Has anyone had any experience with them? How do they perform?
Thanks.

Hmm...well I've experienced my friends Optimus sub, which should have been the same thing. Unfortunately I don't remember which model it was, maybe around 150 Watts? Anyways, it wasn't particularly impressive, and was in fact the one part of the system that bothered me (this was way back when I had no HT, and therefore no standards). Anyways, I remember it had trouble really handling anything that had a lot of bass in it, one thing that i remember really well was that the Excalibur score gave it some trouble when we were watching it. You may be better off looking at the Sony sub that everyone else seems so happy about.

Awhile back I was in a Radio Shack store for banana plugs or something, and asked the store rep about the RCA subs. The rep said they are very boomy and did not endorse them. If $200.00 is your price range check out the Sony at Best Buy.

Thanks for the responses. I've been thinking about the Sony model. I was just wondering what people though of the RCA subs.
Anyone else?
