    Hello
I am looking for some comments or recommendations on either of these 2 hard button remotes. My purchase price here in Canada will be about equal($160 US), so I interested in the usability & feature differences. The equipment I would be contolling is
    Yamaha RV-995
    Panasoinic RP91
    Pioneer 510
    HD6000 Sat
    5100 PVR
I am also considering some remote ligting controldown the road.

    I would appreciate your suggestions

    Tim

I own both (among some other remotes lying around.) I retired my RC-2000MkII quite some time ago. There is nothing it does that the MX-500 can't do better. Ergonomics, battery life, infrared signal strength, legibility of the LCD characters and on and on.

Buy the MX-500. You won't be sorry!

I agree with the other posters, the MX-500 is the way to go. I went through about 4 remotes before I settled on the MX-500 (including the Pronto Neo). The MX-500 was the only one to learn all of my components ir signals. I haven't had a single problem with the MX-500 and the setup is fairly easy. Plus, this thing has one of the strongest IR blasters I've ever seen.
