I'm not a homeowner and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn express last night [IMG] so here's my problem, which I'm hoping you gurus can help me with.

In an old house, I've got a single glass pane window in what I think is a thin aluminum frame. It's an absolute pain the bunghole when I'm trying to listen to music at even a moderate level, and definitely detracts from moviewatching.

So, what can I do to fix this?

    thanks in advance.

On old aluminium windows with single panes you should have a plastic molding on the outside of the window that holds the glass pane in place. Pull the old molding off, pull the glass pane out, lay down a liberal amount of clear silicone caulk, put the glass pane back in, and put in new molding. Total cost $7 or less.

I had the same problem once before.

I live in a new house with expensive double pane windows - but the springs on the garage door make noise (seriously).
