What is one to do when using the Panasonic AE 700 projector on HDMI when playing a Letterbox DVD? If you are playing it on 720p or 1080i your not going to see it correctly as the aspect ratios wont change!!!
What some old classics like South Pacific, Oklahoma, King and I, what a mess with everyone short, fat and wide!!!
Whats the point of having the equipment when you cant watch the films in the correct format on HDMI. Panasonic please fix these problems Im sick of it!!!

What player are you using? Most projectors/displays lock into full mode when they receive a digital signal. Some players offer aspect ratio control, some do not. Your best bet is to find a player that does.

The player im using is Pioneer DV S969AVi G with an HDMI output. The projector is the Panasonic PT AE700. I have borrowed a Lumagen Scaler which i have tried out today and it does correct everything and works very well but it costs $2500 New Zealand. Thats alot of money much more than my player was. What players that are good will offer the aspect changes you say they do?
Thanks for your help to date!
cheers
Murray

The Denon 2910, 3910, 5900, and upcomming 5910 all have aspect ratio control over 720p hdmi (5900 uses dvi).
