They're getting some fine results out of the Gamecube hardware.
    Screenshots at the GIA
Check the fuzzy fir effect. Nifty.

Very nice. Looks like there's a static problem on the Dinosaur planet.

I saw some videos from this game on the free Gamecube demo CD-ROM they were giving out at Toy's R Us, it looks phenomenal... Anyone know the release date?

i don't think there's an official release date.

all that's on rare's page is a "Keep an eye out for its release in 2002"

This game is looking pretty good. I have no doubt it will play good, too, seeing as how Rare is pretty good at 3-D platformers.

Anyone remember the old puppets they used for the Star Fox SNES booklet? I had nightmares about those things.

I so much want this game to be an amazing game, I just hope Rare will actually do a good job this time around.

Every 3d platformer I've played of theirs has been utter crap IMO. (Banjo, DK64, JFG)

DK64 was too much like Banjo-Kazooie, which IMO, is in the Top 5 best with Mario 64. Jet Force Gemini was great, but it was more of an action game than a platform game.

Nonetheless, I have heard and seen great things about Star Fox Adventures...

Static problem or not, it's amazing that they can get realistic looking hair on a characater like that in real time graphics. Rare never ceases to amaze me in that department.

Still, all I want are some Arwing missions. As far as I'm concerned, that's what the whole game should be. Screw this exploration on foot stuff. Put me in an Arwing and let me blow stuff up. Oh and maybe throw in a few levels with the Landmaster for good measure as well.

Originally, Nintendo said "hey, let's make a StarFox game for GameCube" and Rare said "hey, lets make a game called Dinosaur Planet" then they got together and made Dinosaur Planet for GameCube with StarFox as the main character. So its not really a StarFox game, but rather a Rare platform/action game with StarFox and some arwing levels.

    Jeffrey,

those are my thoughts exactly. Just give me a whole game with Arwing loving and I'll be happy. Having the Landmaster for a couple levels would be a bonus, but nothing beats flying around in an Arwing with Falco, Peppy, and Slippy covering my back.

I always loved it when Slippy fell victim to friendly fire, and would complain in that gibberish. Hey, he may be a frog, but if he's smart enough to fly an Arwing, he should be smart enough to stay out of my way. [IMG]
