I want to raise my 530 up off of the floor about 2-3 inches. However, I do not want to build an entire base because I do not wat the wheels of the tv to touch the base. So can I slide a couple of 2x4's under each corner of the tv, or will the lack of support in the middle cause any damage?

I can not build a rectangle frame b/c my entertainment centers base molding has an arch cut in the bottom and you would be able to see the wood. Thanks!

The TV is designed to have all its weight put on the wheels, so that is where all the structural strength is. Get the 2x4's as close to the wheels as possible. Also, make sure that whatever support you use that it is stable, or it may flop over and drop the TV. I.e., if you use 2x4's, don't stand them on the narrow sides.
