is this movie being released in 3D Blu-ray? I cannot find a preorder for it on amazon or Best Buy. Does anybody know?

Thor: Ragnarok will be released in 3D at Amazon UK for about $27 including shipping starting Feb. 26.

I don't know why 3D gets a back seat in the U.S.???

Is it being released in 3d -- yes and like most Marvel/Disney is almost 100% it will be region free
In the US -- unknown

It's still 2-4 weeks before the official press release would be expected so if there are retailer exclusives yet to be named I would expect it then. I think the expected release date in last Tues in Feb

Most likely you are seeing a third party seller rather than Amazon directly - sometimes happens if a third party lists it for less than Amazon has it. Make sure to check who it's been sold by, and if necessary, click to see all sellers and select Amazon.

I bought and have received Thor:R in 3D from Amazon UK on Jan 18, 2018. No problem. I just went to the product page and the 3D version is not available to ship to the US.

Guys, I think the policy of shipping 3D to the US is changing.

Nope. That's just the listing defaulting to a third party seller who has the item for cheaper who doesn't ship to the US. Select Amazon as the seller and you can get it shipped to the US just fine.
