I saw Best Buy is selling the DVD "R2D2 Beneath the Dome" for $4.99.

Is this the same thing that's on disc 2 of Star Wars II, AOTC? Or is the version on AOTC just a preview?

No, it's the complete 20 minute documentary. The one on the AOTC DVD was just a preview for it.

Thanks! The preview on ATOC was very funny. For $5 I think I'll stop by Best Buy and pick up a copy.

I saw a copy of this disc for 7.99 at my local Best Buy on Monday. Strange. Do chain stores often have varying prices at various locations? I figured they'd have the same price throughout the board.

I do wish that since they were putting it on the DVD, that they would have edited out all of the middle "junk" like the credits and what have nots so that it would appear as one long segment, like Artisand does with their mini-series such as The Odyssey. It would have been much easier to watch, but for $5, I can't complain too much...

The regular price of the Artoo DVD at Best Buy is $7.99. All of the copies in-store will be stickered at $7.99, although they will ring up this week for $4.99. Next Sunday, they should be back up to $7.99.
The DVDs are not re-stickered during sales to save labor. There would be all the labor involved in re-pricing the DVDs to the sale price, and then, after the sale, there would be more labor in again re-pricing the DVDs that didn't sell during the sale, back up to their regular price.
Ultimately, in a perfect world, it'd be great if everything was "priced as is"--but when stores are getting in two, three, or four-thousand copies of whatever the "hot" DVD is of that week, the re-stickering involved wouldn't be worth it.
Basically, a general rule to follow is that whatever the ad says, that's what the item will ring up at, regardless of what the price sticker says.

I would assume it would be available at Futureshop (which is owned by Best Buy)

Heheh, my sister surprised me with this last night. She said she got it at Best Buy for like $5.00. It's hilarious, isn't it?

It was funny on AOTC at the length it was. Does the complete 20 min. version suffer from the dreaded Saturday Nite Live skit curse? Good idea, but ultimately stretched WAY too long or is it consistently as good as what was on the SW disc?

    Thanx! D

My dad, knowing nothing about the six-minute trailer, said that the twenty-minute entire show was funny "for the first five or six minutes" after watching it yesterday.

Me--I'm an Artoo fan--I think its all funny. But I can understand people that tire of it after a few minutes.

i think the 20 minute version was just about right. if it was another minute longer it would have been r-TOO long.
