One of Ray Stevenson's greatest roles was as Titus Pullo in HBO's Rome (2005-2007). Here's a four-minute scene from it....

I would say his greatest but I don't think I've seen him in many other pictures. I don't think I had ever seen him before when I saw him in Rome and really, he was just so good in it, I thought his career would take off and he would be much sought after.

Yes, Rome was his introduction to me, and I could not be more astonished to read of his passing. Did fine work in everything else I ever saw him in, and he'll be missed. R.I.P.

This terrible. I always wanted him to play a bigger role in the Thor films. He and the other Warriors Three were very underutilized.

Here’s hoping he gets the attention he deserves in Ahsoka.

Very young. This is tragic. RIP.

I also saw him in Rome. Good series and he was very good in it. And yes 58 is way too young. R.I.P.

I didn't see too many of his movies, mostly because he tended to make movies I wasn't all that interested in. But I first came across him as guest star in random British TV crime dramas.

The oddest, and most interesting, thing I saw him in was in an unsold pilot for a US TV series called Babylon Fields from 2007. It was a supernatural drama about a small town in which deceased people returned from the dead. Not as zombies. They were newly alive. Seemed to me that it was inspired by the 2002 French film Les Revenants, which was later turned into a French TV series (and an Americanized version, The Returned).

Prior to Jon Bernthal, I thought he was the best screen version of The Punisher.

Way too young.

Other than the Thor movies, the only thing I remember seeing him in was The Book of Eli, where he played Gary Oldman's henchman. He had such a presence on screen though, just a matter of connecting with the right filmmakers and projects to use that to full advantage.

Just stumbled onto news of his passing. Just terrible news. I think I first became aware of him in the HBO series Rome and followed his career over the intervening years. Seeing him on screen in Ahsoka is going to be bittersweet. RIP Mr. Stevenson.
