A talented gentleman who will be much missed. He made quite a mark on the entertainment world, and he and his family can be justifiably proud of that. R.I.P.

What a tremendous career. Another thing the folks here might remember: He wrote the lyrics to Can You Read My Mind, the spoken word piece by Lois Lane in Superman: The Movie. The guy won two Oscars too!

I remember that and how well it worked.

Do you think his passing might effect the work that was going into the restoration of a Scrooge soundtrack? it was one of my Holy Grails.

The last Mike Matessino said about the remastered soundtrack of Scrooge was that it would not occur this year as he was waiting for Mr. Bricusse to return to the United States a few weeks before this happened. With Mr. Bricusse passed away, he has not made mention of what his plans for Scrooge are now.

His exact quotes:

Not this year, I'm afraid. We were assuming the pandemic wouldn't have gone on so long . Mr. Bricusse has stayed in France this whole time and I'm awaiting his return to L.A. so we can resume looking into it with CBS and Sony Music.

I wouldn't have had time this year regardless, but the original album never had the proper artist agreements finalized. At the time it was one company, but CBS Records is now part of Sony Music so it requires lawyers for two companies pulling files and dealing with Mr. Bricusse and his reps. For most of the past year, no one could even get physical access to the needed files. It simply would move more quickly with everyone in one country since LB, remains busy (at the age of 92) with new productions of his shows, etc.
