He was tremendously powerful in his prime, one of the NHL's toughest and most dangerous forwards, and looked like a bodybuilder. A hardworking farm boy, and often spectacular in all aspects of the game. Along with some others (Stan Mikita) , he changed the game with his curved stick and was nonetheless a master of both wrist and slapshot. Some say he was the first of what became the prototypical and highly desired power forward. And he was one of the league's best fighters too!

I'm just old enough to remember the 1961 Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks, who broke up a 14 year straight run of either the Toronto Maple Leafs or Montreal Canadiens winning the Stanley Cup.

R.I.P. Bobby Hull.

Great player. Used to love to watch him play. The only player i ever saw who was more dynamic was Bobby Orr. RIP.

One of the funniest Hull stories happen in the WHA years. A friend of mine was actually at this game sitting right near the glass where Hull's toupee was ripped off and he still gets a kick of telling the story

Sorry, it was older brother Maurice "Rocket" Richard who scored 50 in 1944-45 season.
Yup. The Rocket scored 50 goals in 50 games. His little brother, the "Pocket Rocket" , holds the record for most Stanley Cups won by a player -- eleven. Unfortunately, I am not old enough to have seen Maurice play, but I did get to watch Henri win his last couple of Cups in '71 and '73.

We've lost some great players the past couple of years. Along with Bobby Hull, also gone recently are Mike Bossy and one of my all-time favorites -- Guy Lafleur.

Oh my lord, I compounded one gaffe with another! 🤦‍♂️

Yes, Maurice Richard was not only the first to score 50 goals in an NHL season, but actually scored 50 goals in 50 games, a record later shattered by Wayne Gretzky who scored 50 goals in 39 games in 1981-82 just a couple of years after Mike Bossy of the NY Islanders matched Richard's 50 goals in 50 games.

Was in the Boston Garden the night he scored his 600 goal, one of the all time greats. Many memorable games with the Blackhawks in the early 70's. R.I.P. Sir!

Because he's dead ?
I had a couple of family members that passed who were, let's say, less than stellar human beings. Had done things that deeply hurt the people I care for most. However, I certainly didn't walk around the funeral home telling people about the horrible things they had done. That would have been inappropriate.

Be the better person.

You are in a person's "rest in peace" thread, which is pretty close to a virtual funeral home. Both are memorials to a just passed person, initiated by people who care about the deceased. People visit both to pay their respects.
