I just had lunch at Quizno's and tried their mesquite bbq chicken sandwich for $2.99. It was the small 4" one, which is listed for $2.99 on their menu board.

Now, their commercial states a saving of over a buck. I'm not good at math but how is that a saving? hehe

Wouldn't that be considered as a misrepresentation of their product?

Is it the commercial where you have to present any coupon and you save $1 off a sub, or is this something different?

The any coupon deal was few months ago. This is their latest tv ad that been running for a few weeks and states of saving over a buck on their mequiste chicken sandwich, which happens to be the small 4" one for $2.99 but its regular price.

They have the worst ad campaign of anything I've ever seen. The idea of buying food from somewhere that advertises singing, mutated rats.. ick.

I've only seen one of those ads. Fortunatly, that campaign doesn't seem to be running in Canada. Although we do get radio ads with Don Cherry yelling about how "toasted tastes better!"

I still love their subs though. [IMG]

I saw the ad last night. It does say (paraphrasing) "Most popular sub, chicken sub now just $2.99, more than a dolllar off the regular price."

You must be lucky tony, cause I've seen quite a few of those ads. then again i'm unable to distinguish from american and canadian ads (see above) so it was probably on an american cable channel.

I, on the other hand, love the new Quizno's spots. I've always been partial to all things quirky-to-the-point-of-almost-annoying.

Yes, I've taken my meds. Why do you ask?

    I LOVE THE Quiznos spongemonkeys!

    "We love the subs!
'Cuz they are good to us.
    The Quiznos subs.
    They are tasty,
    they are crunchy,
they are warm because they toast them.
    They got a pepper bar!
    The Quiznos subs."

Well, Jason, I see ads for feminine hygiene products all the time and I don't have a vagina anywhere near me, unfortunately. [IMG]

There is a Quizno's right by work that I walk to frequently, however. I just can't imagine caring about saving a buck on the small sandwich when it's barely enough sandwich to whet my appetite. Damnit! Now I'm hungry.

Well, Mark... you ARE in Edmonton now... -ducks-

I never really GOT the whole idea of a Quiznos sub...

sure they are toasted, fancy breads, and their meat is supposed to be better... but they don't let you topple the subs with veggies the way subway does...

    am I missing something?

Paul beat me to it...(the Edmonton joke.) [IMG]

Depends on the sub Paul. Some come with onions and peppers and such. They'll usually ask if you want to add lettuce...but generally, their subs taste great just the way they come outta the oven. [IMG]

Yeah, I tried Quizno's and was quite disappointed. The sandwiches look gigantic in the commercials but what I got seemed really dinky. And it was expensive considering how little I got. Meh!

They are expensive but they are mighty tasty. Their food tastes so much better than Subway or Blimpies and the other local joints around here. There is a STeak Stuffers but that's not a fair comparison.

Haven't tried Quiznos, but you can't get much worse than a Subway "sub." Don't they have deli or sub shops up there? They'll let you get the best of both, including warmed or toasted subs.

I love the subs, but the commercials with the singing mutated gerbils make me want to kill myself. Thirty seconds of utter desperation and willingness to die. [IMG]
