They have got to be kidding. I absolutely will not buy a dvd with commercials.

I used to have a purchased VHS tape of Abbott & Costello show doing "Who's on First?" that had the original commercials that were shown when it was first broadcast. Pretty cool for something so vintage, but not really anymore since networks are broken up into affiliates who sell their own advertising, there is no "definitive" broadcast of a paricular show.

I wouldn't worry about this. I can see commercials on DVDs (in addition to the studios OWN commercials which already appear on DVDs), but not during the feature. If they do that, they should be giving them away for free, not selling them.

I wouldn't worry about it. This is an idea that's going nowhere.

    YES!

It's about time movies on DVD have commercial interruption.

Oh yeah, that what I really want, Ditech.com to bother me when watching a great film. Doubt it would ever ocme to be, thankfully.

Link didn't work for me, just brought up a description of 4 disc FOTR. Although from what the other people have said, if my read on what's going is accurate, the words "hell" and "no" seem to be mysteriously convalescing together in my mind.

If they did that, I might have to hunt someone down and ridicule them to tears.
    Maybe myself.

The best part of the story is where it says the company is hoping to tap into the niche that likes commercial interruptions. [IMG]
Like what Mitty says, I wouldn't mind buying a vintage TV show and having original commercials included; that'd be kinda fun. I was just thinking that it'd be neat if the I Love Lucy discs had original commercials, but then again that might get tiresome. Perhaps on certain episodes.
TVToons should follow up their Commercial Jingles audio CD with a DVD of vintage commercials. I wouldn't mind that. I'd like to see that Clean Up America with the Indian crying, or Choo Choo Charlie selling Good n Plenty's again.
TV Land's Retromercials aren't on often enough.

Actually, I think the worst idea in DVD history would be something aling the lines of "Entertainment Tonight: Season One"...but this is up there too...

Hey, I've actually GOT some of the early Entertainment Tonight shows from 1981, back when they had that curly-haired guy instead of John Tesh. They do a segment on the up-and-coming band Air Supply! My friend's got a DVD recorder too so I need to transfer these!

Commericals during DVD playback is the most stupidest idea that I have ever heard (DIVX was also a stupid idea). I don't want commericals playing while im watching a movie or TV show on DVD.
