I have both my desktop and laptop (both running XP) connected to a router, which is connected to a cable modem. In My Network Places I have two folders: Shared Docs on Laptop and Shared Docs on Desktop. This is the same on both computers and I am the computer administrator of both computers.

I used to be able to share documents between the two computers, but now I'm only able to access the laptop's folder from the desktop and not vice versa. When I attempt to get into my desktop's shared folder from my laptop, I get an error message stating I "do not have permission-please see computer administrator..."

Is there something I have to reset to let the desktop know it's okay to share the shared folder with the laptop?

Both machines need to be in the same workgroup and you should use the same account name.
