Can anyone tell me what the chances are that my 2001 Sharp TV will be able to play a PAL signal out of the box? In the UK it is very common for recent TV's to be able to play NTSC, but I'm not sure about it here.

Unfortunately the model has been discontinued and Sharp's website is useless [IMG]

The model number is: 27N-S300 (Sharp's Listing)

    Thanks for any help!!!

It's uncommon for U.S. TVs to accept a PAL signal. I take it you no longer have the manual for your Sharp set?

The manual doesn't even mention NTSC nevermind PAL!

I've heard that Plasma TV's handle a PAL signal (from a progressive scan DVD player that is), is that true? Is it the same for all other HDTV's?

    Thanks for any info!
