I am getting an XBOX today and was looking at the adapters..
The advanced AV pack seems to be the same as the HD-AV pack and the same price.
So, even if I dont own a HD TV, would it be a safe assumption to just get the HD-AV pack?

Well, Let me add some details (the best I can [IMG])
    TV: Has component & s-video in's
DVD: Has component & s-video out, along with coaxial & optical audio out
Reciever: accepts coaxial & optical audio.
Right now I have S-video from DVD to TV, and coaxial audio from DVD to receiver.
When I get the XBOX I was going to:
Hook up my DVD component to TV, DVD optical to receiver optical, s-video from xbox to TV & xbox coaxial audio to receiver....??
Any quick tips are helpful. Im getting ready to leave [IMG])

If you can use a component connection (you have enough to plug in both the Xbox and the DVD player) I'd do it. If you have to pick with a component connection for the xbox or the DVD player I'd go with the DVD player, but that's just IMO.

There is no coaxial digital audio from the Xbox. Optical only.

If you get the xbox Monster Cables they are now offering a coax digital audio conector but I have yet to see one anywhere.

Thanks Dave, thats what I did. I figured I saved money by NOT having to buy an additional set of component cables. I bought the HD Pack & one optical cable. So, I was only out 40 bucks. It looks fine, the audio is awesome.
