This is not another thread about stalled, or abandoned dvd series. Please ask those questions in the 700 other threads pertaining to them;)

This thread is more about questions you want answered about previously released, or upcoming releases on tv dvd's.
Hopefully other HTF members can help answer our questions.

Here are my questions:

1. On Charles in Charge season 3, Arts Alliance dropped the "TV Guide presents" logo that was on season 2. Does anyone know why?

2. What happened to Scare Tactics on dvd?
It was announced that it was coming soon on the official site, but never got released. Note: the first season was released in Australia, but not the U.S.

3. Volume sets of the Smurfs....Is WB serious?

Despite that fact that TV Guide signs my paychecks, I'm not privy to that info. Especially since those people who license out the TVG name/logo are in a division far, far from the one I'm ultimately attached to.

And Joe at AAA didn't answer the question when I asked it in an e-mail (although he answered plenty of other questions I had asked about specific product, so my feelings weren't hurt...he may have just overlooked it).

Still, it seems pretty simple to me that the license for AAA to use TVG's name and logo had expired, and either they choose not to pursue renewing it, or something about TVG's purchase by Macrovision may have made the new owners reluctant to allow it to be renewed.

In the end, it's no biggie. It's really just a gimmick; as far as I know all the DVD work was done strictly by the guys at AAA...the TVG name was just to try to help boost sales.

David,
Thanks. It is no big deal, but I thought it certainly wouldn't hurt sales either.
After all TV Guide is iconic in stature. People who would be iffy about buying a title may be reassured with their name stamped on it.

The TV Guide link didn't work for me since they didn't have bonus features like vintage articles from the magazine from when the shows first aired.
