I have an infocus 4805 projector. I have no problems with it. But, I am curious if I upgrade to either the hd-dvd or blu-ray players...How will it look with my projector? I assume since it is not an hd projector it wouldn't look that good. I am wondering if I was to get a new projector. Are their any hd projectors that are good and under 2k?

Thanks!

I don't know about your particular projector, but now that the 1080p machines are coming out, you can get a 720p projector for MUCH less than $2k. And yeah, the HD-DVD and blu-ray discs will look beautiful on a 720p unit. Jumping into a 1080p projector would be even better, sure, but 720p is very, very satisfying IMO.

Using a HD DVD player with the 4805 would improve image slightly, but I wouldn't spend the money for a HD player unless I had at least a 720p projector. There are many nice 720p projectors less than $2,000. Assuming you want to stick with DLP, Mitsubishi HC3000 and HD1000, Optoma HD70 and HD72.
