Have a question. I have a Sony 36"XBR450 and a Sony NS700P
DVD player. When I turn the 16x9 enhancement on (with the
NS700P in Cinemotion mode) the picture is sweet, but it
appears that it might be a bit too squeezed. People, etc.
seem a bit too short, a little out of proportion. Am I doing
something wrong? Of course this is all with anamorphic or
16x9 enhanced films. I wonder if calibration would correct
this slight problem.
Thanks.............

First, I assume your DVD player is set to 16x9 output?

Second, if you have Avia or VE, they have anamorphic test signals you can use to check if your TV is displaying anamorphic material propperly. They should have lot's of circles in the frame so you can check the geometry.
I think the VE signal is title 20 chapter 5 or something like that.

Lance, a lot fo WEGA owners are reporting that their units sometimes "oversqueeze" the scanning-line raster when in 16:9 mode. Look for circles in the picture and see if they are instead mild elipses. This "oversqueeze" can be corrected from the service menu.
