Question on Sinewaves and Port Noise (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I am still having a blast with my new sub. Just installed a BFD and am making very good progress towards integrating the sub into the room.

Why do I hear port noise when playing sinewaves and rarely hear port noise with regular program material? Just curious.

Its probably because during music, the higher frequencies being played are covering up the port noise.

I used to have the same problem when I had my old subwoofer, and I even had a 10" diameter round vent!!!

However with music or movies, it sounded just fine. I wouldnt worry about it too much.
