Most circulars are designed and printed a few weeks in advance. So I don't think you'll see big sales on the Oscar winners. If people are impulsive enough to buy a DVD only or mostly because it won an award, I wouldn't venture that they care if it is on sale or not.

However, some e-tailers are savvy enough to know that the lemmings that make up the general public will buy a film if it wins an award. Moulin Rouge is $16.99 this week at Best Buy, for example.

Thanks for the info Greg. I just picked up ML last night at BB for $16.99, on sale this week. It is usually $22.99.

I've been planning on buying it for awhile (made the mistake of renting it the first time) and it was great to save a few bucks.
