I bought one of those Toshiba dvd recorders today for 79.99 at best buy. Anyways, the big reason for the purchase was so i could record some of my dvr programs onto DVD. Only thing is that I can't get a tv picture from the dvr. i have a blue picture, but thats it. I've tried to hook it up via S-Video and nothing and with old fashioned coaxil yellow white and red cables and still nothing. I have a comcast Motorolla HDdvr.

You probably need to switch the DVD recorder to the appropiate input. Most DVD recorders default to recording from their built-in analog tuner. You should find a "Input Select" button on the remote.

Also, some DVD recorders require some form of blank DVD media to be inserted into the tray before they will enter into a record mode. Until that's done they will ignore the "Input Select" button.
