Okay so I've gotten back into the Superman franchise this last year after rediscovering "Smallville." After watching all four Christopher Reeves films along with the entire "Smallville" series to date what I am wondering is if the George Reeve's 50s era series is worth jumping into? Seeing that there are a number of Superman fans around here I thought this would be a good place to ask....

Thanks to everyone for any good insight. :)

Remember that is was low budget and after the second season targeted at kids but enjoyable never the less.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the first two years (especially S1) but the S3/S4 set was a tough one to get through for me because the show was, as Rick said, aimed at very young children exclusively by then.

I'm perfectly fine with it being low budget as stuff like that adds a charm to older shows. I might have to pick up season 1 very soon. Sounds like a LOT of fun indeed. :D
