Quick question, i've noticed alot of talk about speaker wire. We bought my uncles first HTIB system and it was only about $300, a Yamaha system. It was fairly cheap and we got it at bestbuy. The speakers are something like dual 2" cones or something. I am curious if it is ok to use 24guage wire on a 40 foot run for rears or is that bad? These speakers are so small I wonder if it will make a difference or not?

I think 24ga is too small for just about anything. 22ga is good for 12ft max for an 8 Ohm speaker. That would immediately mean 24ga is not an option.
