    I just bought yesterday a Panasonic DVD-S97.

I have a question regarding audio out.

My TV has a HDMI for video so that is no problem. The audio I want to run through my receiver. Can I run a TosLink optical audio out and a analog 6 channel for DVD-A. Does this player have the ability to run 2 audio outs without one overriding the other.

    So
HDMI out to the TV (video).
Optical out to Receiver (for movies)
6 analog outs to Receiver for DVD-A.

    Make sense?

    Thanks,
    JJ

    Jarrett,

Just set the S97 menu to "Bitstream" for Dolby Digital and DTS. These formats will then automatically use the optical out for movies. The player will then use the 6 analog outs for DVD-Audio.

    Should work fine!

My Yamaha is hooked up with both. Load a Multi-channel audio disc and it goes to multi-channel and load a dvd or cd and it goes to dig.

Ditto with my Sherwood. I have both hooked up and it works like a champ. Especially SACD playback.
