I just set one up, and can't see in any menu how to keep it from reverting to the beginning of a movie when it is shut off. Please enlightne me.

    Thanks for any replies...

The Toshiba machines do not memorize a stop point when the power is turned off. The disk starts from the beginning. There is no way to prevent this. You have to see the point at which you stop it, then search for it when you turn it on again.I have a Toshiba SD-3900 and I had the same problem. I called Toshiba and they told me it just wouldn't do it. It's a pain in the butt.

That stinks... I have a Toshiba SD-5700 and it remembers the end point. I thought this was a common feature on DVD players.

I'm glad I kept the box- I think it'll go back in exchange for one that does recall the stopping point.

    Thanks.
