I had a playstation 2 game system hooked up to the front s-video connection on my SR-7200 and it worked fine for me. I wanted to temporarily hook the game up via the composite connection, also on the front of the receiver. With the S-video connection I get picture just fine. When I use the composite connection I get no picture, just a black screen. Is there a place in the on-screen menu where you need to specify which video connection type you are using? I can't seem to find it and it's driving me nuts. I can't seem to find any info in the manual about it either.

Anybody have any suggestions?

You can't mix connection types with this receiver. If you use the s-vid output from the receiver, all your inputs need to be s-vid too. When you use one, the other is disabled.

I had the same problem with my 6200, and I'm pretty sure my 8300 does the same thing. Not sure about the x400s, but the 9300v now does upconversion.
