According to the IMDb, both VHS and DVD are available in other regions, but not #1; why? With a cast including Jack Hawkins, Dan O'Herlihy, Christopher Plummer, Rod Steiger, Orson Welles, and Michael Wilding, one would think a disc would be profitable.

The region 2 and 4 versions are poor quality.

Let's hope that if it is ever considered for region 1, that they get it right.

Paramount owns the U.S. rights to WATERLOO. I cannot see it being a terribly high priority for them in light of it's initial disappointing U.S. box office take, but if some of the upcoming period war films like MASTER AND COMMANDER and GODS AND GENERALS do anything, maybe it will pique interest. At any rate, the thread title should be changed accordingly.

I would really love to see the original 4 hour version of this film on DVD one day, I'd settle for the 2 hour version in the meantime.

I'll buy it. My old VHS copy is getting a little ragged.
