Hello, this is my first post after a few years of on and off lurking...
I recently received a set of 6 hand-me-down Infinity speakers. They don't have any kind of spec sheets, but here are the model numbers:
Front: RS 5000
Center: Video 1
Surround: Reference EL
My question is two-fold. First, does anybody know what the impedance of these speakers is? My Pioneer receiver has settings for 8 ohm and 6 ohm or less speakers and I don't know which one I should choose.
The second part of the question is, if I can't figure out what the impedance is, which setting on my receiver should I use? Am I going to do damage to either the amp or the speakers by choosing one or the other?
Any help anybody could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
