I have a 555ES SACD player. I use the players bass management and run complete analog direct bypass to my Anthem AVM-20 preamp. I have the crossover on my Mirage BPS-100 subwoofer disabled.
Here is my question. Does anyone know what Hertz level the Sony players crossover at internally? The manual doesn't state. I have read on Audio Asylum that some people feel the crossover is in the 100/110 Hertz range, which seems high. My subwoofer can handle frequencies from 25-150htz, so presently this is not a problem, but I am looking to upgrade soon. The sub I am looking at is the HSU VTF-3, which has a frequency range of 18-90htz. Obviously if the Sony's cross over at 100htz or higher, I cannot purchase the HSU, as it will leave me with at least a 10htz gap between my main speakers and the sub. (I won't have this problem for Redbook, but obviously will for SACD).
Does anyone know the exact crossover level?
