Question about WinISD: Does it consider the volume of ports and driver?

I was wondering about this. It might wreck a nicely designed box.
Take, for instance, an X Liters box. I don't think it is actually considering the volume of ports and driver, which might be close to 10% the total volume of the box.
So, if I simulate a box of X liters, what should I do?
    a) Add the displacement volume of the driver?
    b) Add the displacement volume of the ports AND driver?
    c) Nothing, because WinISD actually considers the displaced volume?
I'm very curious about this... sorry about so many questions... but I want to get it right the first time around [IMG]

Write the author of WinISD. ;-)

I have found that WinISD (at least older versions) gives pretty different results than LSPCad (which you can use for free if you have bought an Adire driver).

Be aware though that the published driver parameters are never spot on and can very by a decent bit.

    Good luck.

The internal volume used by WinISD only assumes the net internal volume inside the box, and you need to add the volume of the driver and port later into the enclosure's final gross volume.

If you are constrained by the enclosure's volume, you must guesstimate the effect of the volume of the port and incorporate that into your final volume inside the enclosure and simulate based on that remaining net volume.

Pat's right but depending on the size of your box, the lenght of your ports and how far out the t/s values really are it might not make an ouce of difference in the real world[IMG]

Well... so it's basically a bit of black science, a bit of luck, and lots of sweat.
I like it [IMG] Thanks for all your input. It's really appreciate it.
BTW, would you recommend any other program besides WinISD? I'd be glad to pay for it, as long as I can download it from the 'net.
