Whenever I launch InterVideo WinDVD it opens as a small box in the upperleft corner of the screen and the player controls are at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to save the position and size of the screens so I don't have to adjust them every time?

Also, is Dell's version of the WinDVD software pretty good or are ther other software players you would recommend?

    (I am running a Dell Inspiron 8100, 256, 16 video nVidia, 14.1 SXGA)

download the trial version of power dvd xp 4.0, and check it out for yourself. at higher resolutions you should definitely notice a much sharper picture. Also, if you can get HW acceleration to work you will get a better image as well.

as far as windvd starting up like that? I don't know but scour the config screens for aspect ratio settings and see if any of that helps. You could also look in the intervideo registry branch and see if there is a option there to start in full screen mode.
