Does anyone know where I can find some legal information about what happens when a minor is arrested in a Las Vegas casino for gambling? I’m guessing that they’d be arrested and taken to jail until someone comes and posts bail their release... but I don’t really know a lot about the whole legal / arrest process. Is there a resource online or at the public library where I’d be able to look up the sentences or fines for this kind of crime, specifically for Vegas? Or read about the exact procedure that happens when someone is arrested, and what you do to bail them out? If one was caught committing this crime, would it simply be a case of paying a fine and walking out of jail (like a jaywalking ticket), or would there be a court hearing first? This is a rhetorical question – I’m asking it because of a situation that’s happening in a screenplay that I’m writing. I was wondering if it’s at all realistic to have someone arrested and then bailed out (or have the fine paid off) in a reasonably short amount of time. I don’t want to get into a situation where the characters need to be in Vegas for two weeks waiting for court dates, etc. In the script, one of the characters wins big at a casino and is then arrested. If he didn’t win, I’m pretty sure the casino would just kick him out, but the money adds another problem. I know he wouldn’t be able to keep it, but the casino is more involved because of the fact that he won. Has anyone ever been arrested for gambling underage or kicked out of a casino? That might be too personal, but I’d love to hear the story if anyone is willing to tell it Any help with this question would be appreciated!
