I'm not sure which forum to ask this in, so I'll ask it here.
I saw The Incredibles on NBC the other night. Disney owns ABC, right? So how did The Incredibles end up on NBC? If anyone knows, I'm just curious.

Money talks, I guess. Disney benefits regardless of who broadcasts it. In this case ABC simply loses out on the opportunity to build the Disney brand through commercial tie-ins.

I got excited about the broadcast until I tuned in and saw that it wasn't HD. Guess Disney isn't going to tease us with the Blu-ray release until they're good and ready. :frowning:

I also thought it looked HD. The only thing that bothered me besides the huge number of commercials is I think some scenes were cut. I know it has been a long time since I saw it, but I remember a scene when the father was trying to fit back into his uniform for the first time in years and having a really hard time. That scene was not shown. Now, it could just be my failing memory but I don't think so.

Also, wasn't there a scene with the family at a backyard bar-b-que? I didn't see that one on this version either. Man, my memory is fading fast.

Heh, close. The first scene was actually made for teaser but not included in the actual film.

And the second was a deleted hand-drawn animated scene on The Incredibles DVD.

I watched it on my G/Fs 50+ inch Sony projection TV and thought it looked really great.

Why the hell isnt this on BluRay yet?

???? Maybe your local ABC affiliate was having trouble with the HD feed because when I tuned in to catch a few minutes at my place it was definitely in HD.

The Incredibles made its network premiere on NBC last year during Thanksgiving and looks like they aired it again this year....no idea why it's on this network....

Hmm, my conclusion was based on imperfect evidence:

1. It wasn't flagged as an HD broadcast in Media Center (which from my experience has been pretty accurate about these things).
2. The picture looked a bit too soft overall, at least compared to the "pop" I saw in the 2-3 seconds of "Incredibles" footage on the latest teaser for "Up." I didn't stay tuned in to the channel too long, though (WXIA 11.1 out of Atlanta).

Regardless, this movie really needs a Blu-ray release soon. However, it looks like we're getting "A Bug's Life" first:
