I was thinking about getting the Asian/Chinese set on eBay, but the problem is that there are 37 DVDs for seasons 1-5 while the U.S. version has 20 (or 22, I forget). Why are there so many discs in this set? What else did they put on the DVDs for crying out loud? That's like an average of 1-2 episodes on EACH disc.

My guess? They're bootlegs done on a burner that could only do DVD-5 (single sided single layered)-- so instead of the 20 DVD-9 discs of the normal set, you end with almost 40 to match the capacity.

Not to stereotype, but two words often cause me to lean towards bootleg: "asian" and "ebay."

Yeah, they're most definitely bootlegs. Don't fall for it.

I just ordered a used copy of the first season on DVD from half.com for $35. It should be authentic as they said nothing about any foreign language on the package. I'm just still waiting for the order to be confirmed. [IMG]
