Hi all, besides watching DVD movies can anyone tell me if a projector is also good for watching HDTV? I am torn between a 65-70" HDTV or thinking about a projector. We do watch alot of TV mostly.

A ceiling mounted or coffee table mounted front projector is excellent for watching HDTV too.

Don't forget that you get good results with a projector, for both DVD and HDTV viewing, only when the room is quite dark.

As with a box TV, a front projector has to have HDTV resolution (including 1080i for CRT, typically 720p for other kinds) if you want to actually see high definition in your TV viewing, while SDTV projectors (640x480, 720x480, 858x480, 800x600) are all you need for DVD.

If your TV is on all the time as in many house holds, I don't think it is a good idea. Two many hours on the projector.

I do have a friend that uses his 4805 for all TV viewing, but he did by the kids a display of their own, so he is not putting so many hours on the projo.
