Question about paypal.com (1 Viewer)

I have a question about http://www.paypal.com
How is that site? Is it safe to pay someone
with credit card there? Has anyone any experience on that
site? Thanks!

From my experiences paypal has been very secure w/o any problems and it sure beats getting the money instantly other than waiting for weeks for a money order. I've been a member for well over a year and use it very frequently.

I use it all the time - no troubles at all. The only potential problem, I understand, might be from non-USA bidders because the credit card verification process for non-USA credit cards is not as secure as for USA credit cards. Or so I'm told.

Its good for buyers..a bit of a disadvantage for sellers as they now charge fees..unlike before....but still awesome enuff for its functionality.
Its also a way to see if the seller is OK to deal with ( most of the time) as Paypal would have data on them.

A little clarification about PAYPAL fees: PAYPAL doesn't always charge fees. Fees are not charged if the buyer uses money currently in his PAYPAL account or if it is transferred from his bank account by Electronic Funds Transfer (meaning a bank account must be registered with PAYPAL). Only if payment is made by credit card is a fee taken. This is the fee that the credit card companines charge PAYPAL, so it seems only right that those costs are passed on to the recipient. After all, PAYPAL isn't selling you something. Some Ebay sellers are annoyed by this, some to the point that they attempt to tack on a fee to the buyer. I refuse to pay that fee. Furthermore, I'm pretty certain it's against Ebay rules.

I love paypal, for a while it was not open to international users, but now that has changed, and I use it whenever it is an option.
As for confirmation, I am sure you have read this already Sam, but after you have registered the card, paypal will charge you a dollar. This 1 USD transaction will show up on your credit card monthly statement along with a 4 digit confirmation code which you must input on the paypal web site afterwards.
Also, some international fees apply, but I can't remember what they are, it's next to nothing, and definitively the cheapest way I have found of paying someone. I would recommend them for internatinal users as well.
