I hate the D-Link wireless router that
Verizon gave me with my Fios service. It
delivers a rather weak signal throughout
my house.

I bought a D-Link 710 range extender, but
after hours on the phone with Customer Support
it was deemed incompatable (although it was
listed as being compatable.

I am very interested in the new Linksys Wireless G
routers. The range on these things are supposed
to be very good.

The problem? My laptop has Wireless "B" and
I don't feel like buying a new card.

I am more interested in the range than speed.
Will this new wireless "G" router be backward
compatable with my "B"?

Thanks!

Yes it is compatible and g has greater range and wider bandwidth than b.

Something like this would more than fit your needs...

Usually you do get the best result by going with the same manufacturers gear on both ends, even though everything is supposed to be compatible; you might want to consider an upgrade for the laptop too.
