That's good to know. I have been using my Roku Ultra for Amazon viewing, so had not checked in awhile.

I haven’t been able to stream Dolby Vision on Amazon Prime using a 4K Roku or AppleTV unit. I don’t think Amazon Prime supports that video format yet. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

I just want to add that Vudu only supports Dolby Vision as an app on a 4KATV unit. Roku apparently doesn’t support Dolby Vision.

Roku’s hardware doesn’t support Dolby Vision, so you will not get DV from any streaming service on that platform.

Vudu also supports Dolby Vision on our Oled’s Vudu app Crawdaddy. Also on the Xbox 1 Vudu app.

Amazon Prime doesn't support Dolby Vision on the ATV or Roku - correct. They do support it on selected shows on OLED's "in house" Prime app. That's where I watched Jack Ryan because I wanted to see it in Dolby Vision.

I love that app. Definitely one is use everyday, sometimes multiple times during the day. Plus I get the alerts on items in my wish list.

I know what you mean as I just glanced at tonight and ended buying "Raggedy Man" (1981) in HD on iTunes for $4.99.

    Any help would be appreciated.
I am interested in getting the Apple TV 4K so I can purchase the original Magnum, P.I. in HD. I’d buy the U.K. Blu-ray set but it lacks subtitles.
I already have a Roku so I am familiar with streaming. What I don’t know much about is iTunes and buying digital media. My tv is an LG 4K bought late last year.
I have read about downloading your iTunes purchase. Would this be stored on the Apple TV 4K device or on a computer? Lastly , if I decide to buy this setup I’ll have no problem watching on my LG?
    Thanks guys!

I've got my eyes on that set as well. If you're willing to hold out, it will probably go on sale again this year for $29.99.

It streams just like a Roku except that it does a much, much better job than the Roku. Your LG TV will work fine.

I never download any of my iTunes purchases, so I'm not sure how that works.

    None!

You can only download to a computer - the Apple TV just stores apps. And no 4K downloads - 1080/720 or SD. Also, downloads are movie only - extras need to be streamed.

Thanks for your help fellas. I’m still holding out hope for a US Magnum release but I’m just tired of waiting. I might wait and keep an eye on a sale for $29.99. Best way to do that?

Thanks, I signed up for Cheap Charts. I also like how they give you price history of the item you’re looking at. Magnum hasn’t dropped since January so hopefully it will be on sale soon and I’ll get it.
Unrelated to my original post but when you buy a Blu-ray and it comes with a digital copy can these be redeemed in iTunes?

Yes, they can be redeemed via iTunes. However, a better method, for codes from those studios who participate, is to setup an account at moviesanywhere.com, link your various online accounts (iTunes, Vudu, Amazon, Fandango, Microsoft, Comcast, Google, etc.), and redeem through there. It will propagate the film to your library in all the providers.

Some studios, such as Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM, do not participate in Movies Anywhere, so you will have to pick a provider to redeem through. Also, TV shows are not part of Movies Anywhere, either.

Some digital codes won't redeem on iTunes and you'll get an error message. One example is Fast Five. The code wouldn't redeem directly on iTunes.

I'm noticing that more and more of the codes I get are redeemable only on Movies Anywhere, and not directly from a single storefront.
