I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

Short question. Can a DVD-Recorder record any DVD's? And will it record both DTS and DD???

Also, will a DVD burner record DVD's.

For some reason I thought this would be copy-right infringement.

This is all new to me...any help?

I work in the IT world and I can tell you that you cannot burn a DVD movie that has any type of copy protection. Heck, you can't even tape most of them to VHS! A consumer DVD burner was essentially designed to transfer stuff like home movies and in some cases data since they hold a whole lot more than plain CDs. If you had plans on expanding your library of DVDs by buying a burner and copying your buddy's collection, you will be sorely disappointed. Score one for MacroVision.

That's cool! I just had no idea. Actually, they should have some type of copy protection for this.

    thanks
