    Blue and bluish-green are single-layer DVD-R.

    Most DVD-R dye is purple.

I can only go on the brands I've seen:

TDK, Verbatim, Datasafe, Ritek, Paradox, Maxell, Traxdata, ZeroDefex, Bulkpaq, Princo, Samsung. All (differing shades of) purple. Never seen a green or blue DVD-R. Which brand do you use Jase?

I'm guessing they are either generic or provided by a specialized vendor, but the ones we use at work (for backing up the laptop reimaging file server) are plain white on the top with five or six green lines (like on the old VHS top labels) for writing the backup date. They come in a clear plastic sleeve and I haven't been able to find any brand name on them.

    Jasen - DVD-RAM possibly?

    Doesn't matter, just curious really.

Rob - I don't think so, it's an early model Pioneer drive (A-03?) that they use for backup.
