Hi,
I received my 3802 from 6th. ave. yesterday ... hooked it up today. When should the dolby digital indicator or dts indicator light up? Also, I hooked up another set of speakers to the surr.back/multizone. I then selected multi on the power amp assignment set-up. When I choose 6.1 surround the receiver tells me that there are no rear speakers recognized. It however recognizes rear speakers if I choose surrond on the amp assignment. Is this correct?

Multi is if you want to power speakers in another room. So leave it on surround and all should be well!:emoji_thumbsup:

Steve R,

The only time that the Dolby Digital or DTS will light up on the receiver is when you have an incoming signal that is either/or. For some strange reason, at the beginning of all the Dolby Digital or DTS movies (menu section) that I have watched, the default is initially ProLogic II, then when the movie actually starts, it flips to DD or DTS. As the manual states when you select the "auto" mode, it will recognize either signal.
